Replace Hardware You Already Own a Better Version Of
$300–800 Saved Per Scanner
A Zebra DS3678 costs $650. A Honeywell Voyager costs $350. You already have a device with a better camera, more processing power, and a color display — it is in your pocket.
Zero Configuration on the Computer
No drivers to install. No software to configure. No COM ports to set up. Your phone pairs via Bluetooth and appears as a keyboard. If your computer can accept keyboard input, ScanCast works with it.
Works with Every Application
Spreadsheets, POS systems, inventory software, databases, ERPs, web forms — if it has a text cursor, ScanCast types into it. No plugins, no APIs, no integration projects.
13 Formats. Instant Detection.
- QR Code — URLs, contact cards, WiFi credentials, text payloads
- Code 128 — Logistics, shipping labels, supply chain
- Code 39 — Military, automotive, and industrial standards
- EAN-13 / EAN-8 — European retail products
- UPC-A / UPC-E — North American retail products
- Data Matrix — Electronics, pharmaceuticals, small-item marking
- PDF417 — Driver's licenses, boarding passes, government IDs
- Aztec — Airline and transit tickets
- Codabar — Libraries, blood banks, FedEx
- Code 93 — Canada Post, extended ASCII encoding
- ITF-14 — Shipping containers and cartons
Continuous Scanning
Point your camera and go. No shutter button. ScanCast reads barcodes continuously in real time — as fast as you can move from one item to the next.
Torch & Camera Controls
Toggle the flashlight for dark warehouses and dimly lit shelves. Switch between front and back cameras. Wakelock keeps the screen on during long scanning sessions.
6 Tag Types. Full Data Decoding.
- NDEF — Standard NFC Data Exchange Format. Text records (language-aware), URI records (23+ protocols), media records
- Mifare — Mifare Ultralight and Classic tags commonly used in access control and transit
- ISO 15693 — Vicinity cards used in library books, industrial asset tags, and inventory labels
- ISO 7816 — Smart cards including payment cards, SIMs, and government IDs
- FeliCa — Sony's contactless standard used in Japanese transit (Suica, PASMO) and Hong Kong Octopus
- Raw UID Fallback — For unsupported tag formats, ScanCast reads and transmits the raw tag UID
Your Phone Becomes a Bluetooth Keyboard
Bluetooth HID Emulation
ScanCast registers your phone as a Human Interface Device — a Bluetooth keyboard. When you scan a barcode or NFC tag, the data is "typed" keystroke-by-keystroke into whatever application has focus on your computer. Spreadsheets, POS terminals, inventory systems, web forms — anything.
Zero Setup on the Computer
There is nothing to install on the receiving computer. No companion app. No driver. No configuration file. Pair the Bluetooth device, click into a text field, and start scanning. It just works — Windows, Mac, Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, Android.
Local Network Streaming for High-Volume Environments
WiFi Data Streaming
For multi-scanner setups or ultra-low-latency needs, ScanCast streams scan data over your local WiFi network. Connect to the companion web interface on any computer on the same network. Multiple phones can feed into a single endpoint.
Multi-Scanner Support
Connect 2, 5, or 10 phones to the same receiving computer. Each scanner is identified in the data stream. Perfect for warehouse teams, stockroom counts, and event check-in lines with multiple gates.
Details That Matter in the Real World
Auto-Append Enter Key
Every scan automatically sends an Enter keystroke after the barcode data. In a spreadsheet, that means each scan goes to a new row. In a POS, it submits the lookup. Configurable — turn it off if you need Tab or nothing.
Custom Prefix & Suffix
Prepend a warehouse code, append a timestamp, or wrap scan data in delimiters. Tailor the output to match your exact data format without touching the receiving software.
Inter-Key Delay
Some legacy POS systems cannot keep up with fast keystroke injection. Set a delay between keystrokes (1ms to 50ms) for perfect compatibility with older hardware.
Duplicate Detection
Configurable deduplication window prevents accidental double-scans when the camera lingers on a barcode. Sound and haptic feedback confirm each unique scan.
Anywhere You Scan, ScanCast Replaces Expensive Hardware
- Warehouse Inventory — Scan barcodes directly into spreadsheets or inventory management software. No $600 Zebra scanner required.
- Retail / POS — Turn old phones into additional barcode scanners at checkout. Deploy a new lane for the cost of a used phone.
- Asset Tracking — Scan NFC tags on equipment and stream data to your asset database. IT asset management without dedicated hardware.
- Event Check-In — Scan QR code tickets directly into your check-in system. Multiple phones at multiple gates, all feeding one list.
- Library Cataloging — Scan book barcodes into any cataloging software. ISBN lookup is just a scan and an Enter key away.
- Replace Expensive Hardware — Every phone in your team's pocket is a scanner you have already paid for. ScanCast just unlocks it.

Scan Data Stays Between Your Devices
ScanCast processes all scans locally on your device. Scan data is only transmitted to devices you explicitly connect to via Bluetooth HID or local WiFi. No data is sent to any external server. No analytics. No tracking. Camera and NFC access are used exclusively for scanning — never in the background.
