SJP Apps ("we," "our," or "us") operates ScanCast, a wireless barcode and NFC scanner application available on iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our app.

ScanCast is designed with your privacy as a priority. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on external servers.
How ScanCast Works
ScanCast uses your device's camera to scan barcodes and your device's NFC reader to scan NFC tags. Scan results are transmitted directly to your connected devices via one of the following local methods:
- Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE): Scan data is sent via BLE HID keyboard emulation to a paired device
- WiFi: Scan data is streamed over your local network to a connected device
No scan data is ever sent to any external server. All data transmission occurs directly between your devices over local connections.
Device Permissions
ScanCast requests the following device permissions, used solely for the app's core functionality:
- Camera: Used for barcode scanning only
- NFC: Used for NFC tag reading
- Bluetooth: Used for BLE HID keyboard emulation to transmit scan results
- Local Network/WiFi: Used for WiFi-based scan result streaming to connected devices
Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or location
- We do not require or offer user accounts
- We do not use cloud storage or synchronization services
- We do not use analytics or tracking tools
- We do not display advertisements
- We do not share any data with third parties
- We do not store scan history on external servers
- We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies
Data Storage and Security
ScanCast processes scan data in real time and transmits it directly to your connected devices. The security of local transmissions depends on your Bluetooth and WiFi network security settings. We recommend using secured WiFi networks and trusted Bluetooth pairings.
Children's Privacy
ScanCast does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is safe for users of all ages.
